Washington -- Paul Allen, the Microsoft Corp. cofounder who
has invested heavily in cable over the past year, will make his speaking debut at a cable
conference during the National Show in Chicago next month, the National Cable Television
Association said last Friday.
Allen, whose Vulcan Ventures Inc. holdings include Charter
Communications, will be on a media-heavyweight panel during the general session June 15
that also features Viacom Inc. chairman Sumner Redstone, Time Warner Inc. chairman Gerald
Levin and Comcast Corp. president Brian Roberts.
AT&T Corp. chairman C. Michael Armstrong has already
agreed to deliver a keynote speech.
