Allot Debuts Traffic-Management Gear

Allot Communications will debut in December its new “NetEnforcer AC-2500” network-traffic-management system, which is capable of supporting throughput rates up to 5 gigabits per second.

The platform is a successor product to Allot’s “AC-1000” systems, which have been deployed in 100 cable systems across the country.

The new product line features packet-over-SONET (synchronous optical network) transmission, which provides for better connectivity at lower costs, the company said.

The AC-2500 lists at $50,000, and it is built for cable’s growing network-traffic needs, including voice over Internet protocol, online gaming and peer-to-peer traffic control.
