Alterna’TV Lands Carriage Deal with TWC in NYC

Latin American distributor Alterna’TV Thursday announced a two-channel distribution contract with Time Warner Cable’s New York City region, adding Ecuavisa International and Telemicro International to a digital tier than includes more than 60 Spanish- and English-language networks.

“We are very excited to launch Ecuavisa Internacional and Telemicro International in the New York DMA through our growing partnership with Time Warner Cable,” Clemente Cabello, executive director of Alterna’TV, said in a statement. “These two channels represent a huge population in New York and I’m sure Time Warner Cable’s customers will love them.”

Ecuavisa Internacional (Channel 826) is the international counterpart of Ecuador’s #1 television network. Hosted by the most renowned talent among the Ecuadorian community living in the U.S., the channel covers news, entertainment, soccer, telenovelas, tourism, comedy and more. 

Telemicro International (Channel 810) is a 100% Dominican channel, with original productions rated among the Top 10 shows in the Dominican Republic. The channel carries news, comedy, sports, general entertainment and shares all of its culture and the characteristic taste and personality of the Caribbean island.

Time Warner Cable’s New York City region serves more than 1.4 million subscribers in Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and western Brooklyn.
