Alterna TV Offers Three More Spanish-Language Alternatives For Comcast

Alterna'TV has gained carriage for three more of its services on Comcast's Spanish-language programming tier in Chicago.

Ecuavisa Internacional (from Ecuador), Telemicro Internacional (from Dominican Republic) and AYM Sports (from Mexico) are now part of the expanded programming package, joining other Alterna' services CBTV, Mexico 22 and Once Mexico. Deal terms were not disclosed.
Comcast's Spanish-language offering in the Windy City environs now comprises nearly 60 linear networks, as well as 125 Hispanic On Demand choices.
Ecuavisa Internacional is the international counterpart of Ecuador's top TV network, while Telemicro Internacional is a 100% Dominican channel, with original productions rated among the top 10 shows in that nation. AYM Sports provides coverage of Mexico's second soccer division, baseball, wrestling, rodeo and college sports.
"We are very proud to be part of Comcast's groundbreaking Hispanic initiative," said Leonardo Alvarado, general manager of Alterna'TV, in a statement. "By launching this new programming tier, Comcast is making a bold, positive move for the Hispanic community. They are recognizing how important the Hispanic consumer is and are giving them the attention they deserve."
