Alticast Taps ADB's Malcy


Interactive middleware developer Alticast has hired Mike Malcy, previously head of marketing for the Americas with set-top maker ADB, as senior vice president of business development.

Malcy officially will join Alticast on March 25. He has spent the past eight years in business development, marketing and legal roles at Switzerland-based ADB and Vidiom Systems, which ADB acquired in 2005.

Prior to Vidiom, he spent three years as vice president of Samsung's Product Innovation Laboratory and five years as marketing manager at Sharp Laboratories.

"Alticast and our customers are very fortunate to have someone with Mike Malcy's insight and experience guiding our product and business activities," Alticast CEO David Housman said in announcing Malcy's appointment. "Mike is well known and respected in our business sector, he will help to ensure we continue to anticipate, develop and deliver solutions that meet our U.S., Canadian and Latin American customers' revenue and operating goals."

Alticast, whose North American headquarters is in Broomfield, Colo., provides middleware software that has been deployed in more than 15 million DVB-MHP, tru2way and Blu-ray Disc devices worldwide.
