Altitude Sports & Entertainment will air up to 40 Denver Nuggets National Basketball Association games in HD, the regional sports network said Tuesday.
The initial HD telecast will be Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. (MST), when the Miami Heat and Shaquille O’Neal visit the Nuggets.
The games will be presented in 1080i (interlaced) format with stereo sound, Altitude said.
“We’re thrilled to be the first RSN in the region to make the foray into HDTV, and we look forward to expanding upon this initiative -- certainly [the National Hockey League’s Colorado] Avalanche games and, possibly, [the National Lacrosse League’s Colorado] Mammoth games and [Major League Soccer’s Colorado] Rapids contests,” Altitude chief operating officer Matt Hutchings said in a prepared statement.
“Our future goal is to have all of our originally produced live events presented in HDTV,” he added.
