Giving Apple’s iTunes a run for its money, Amazon.com launched its long-awaited video download service Thursday night.
The Unbox site (www.amazon.com/unbox) is a slicker site and more easy to navigate than iTunes and contains about the same amount of video content as the iTunes store.
Programming suppliers include A&E Television Networks, Turner Broadcasting System, CBS, E! Networks, Fox, Scripps Networks, Hanna-Barbera, MTV Networks and Discovery Networks U.S.
TV shows go for the same $1.99 price Apple charges, while movies cost $7.99-$14.99.
