Amazon Renews `Bosch'

Amazon has renewed a second season of its hit one-hour drama series Bosch, the network said Wednesday.

The sophomore campaign of the series, based on Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch book series and starring Titus Welliver (Lost, The Good Wife, Sons of Anarchy) as the no-nonsense detective, will be based on Connelly’s novels Trunk Music and The Drop, said Amazon.

The inaugural season of Bosch, which launched in February, achieved the biggest debut weekend among all Amazon Original Series and is the most-watched title on Prime Instant Video across movies and TV series in its first four weeks, according to the company.

Welliver along with actors Jamie Hector, Lance Reddick and Amy Acquino will reprise their respective Bosch roles for the second season, according to Amazon.

“We’re delighted to see that Amazon customers have immediately embraced Bosch,” said Roy Price, Amazon Studios vice president in a statement. “Fans will soon be able to enjoy more of this inspired adaptation brought to life by a remarkably gifted cast.”
