AMC and Fox International Channels are orchestrating a worldwide zombie invasion in support of new drama series, The Walking Dead.
Fox International Channels, the international rights-holder to the show based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, is initiating the walk-through, so to speak, with overseas invasions beginning at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong on Oct. 26, before it moves across the globe where the stunt culminates at the show's Los Angeles premiere.
The show makes its linear bow on AMC on Halloween night at 10 p.m. (ET), followed by premieres in other nations. All FIC markets are scheduled to launch the initial episode during the same week, with debuts of The Walking Dead on tap in 120 countries, via 33 languages.
Taking direction from The Walking Dead's legendary make-up artist Greg Nicotero, hundreds of zombies are poised to take over major cities worldwide during a 24-hour period. The global outbreak will feature the undead walking before such landmarks as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, The Prado Museum in Madrid, the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, and the Acropolis in Athens, among others.
They'll begin their deadly dance at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong, followed by Istanbul, Madrid, Munich, London, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, New York and Los Angeles, among others, en route to a total of 26 cities.
Video and photo assets documenting the stunt will be delivered as released on the day of the stunt, and will also be available for download from: http://www.beam.tv/workspace/viewFolder/sNxScWQjbV
