AMC to Rock Labor Day

American Movie Classics' 10th annual 'Film Preservation Festival' -- slated
for Labor Day weekend -- will be themed 'Rock 'n' Roll in the Movies.'

Restored film prints of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars,
Gimme Shelter and The Last Waltz will be showcased on AMC Aug. 30
through Sept. 1, along with a tie-in original documentary, Hollywood Rocks
the Movies: The `70s
,hosted by David Bowie. Other titles that will
be part of the event include Saturday Night Fever, TheRocky
Horror Picture Show
, This Is Spinal Tap and A Star Is Born, as
well as such concert films as U2: Rattle and Hum and Hail Hail Rock
'n' Roll

Since its inception in 1993, AMC said, it has raised more than $2 million for
The Film Foundation, which funds seven member archives to restore and preserve
motion pictures.
