American Movie Classics announced the lineup for its 'Monsterfest 2002.'
The annual Halloween event, now in its sixth year, will run Oct. 25 through
31 and will combine monster movies with AMC original programming.
This year's Monsterfest will include the premiere of Backstory:
Halloween, about the 1978 slasher flick, and a Halloween marathon,
featuring the second through fifth installments of the movie franchise.
In other programming news, AMC will premiere Once Upon a Time -- Sergio
Leone Aug. 24 at 4 p.m.
The documentary examines the global impact of the Italian director's films --
including The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and A Fist Full of
Dollars -- which raised the genre of the 'Spaghetti Western' from B-movie
status to mainstream hits.
