American Movie Classics will launch its new series, Backstory, which takes an in-depth look at the making of classic movies, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. On the heels of its successful pilot episode about the making of Roman Holiday, AMC will air 14 episodes of the series.

The first episode explores the making of Bonnie and Clyde, the 1967 Academy Award-winning film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Other episodes of Backstory will examine the making of Norma Rae, The Seven Year Itch and The Longest Day.
