Animal Planet announced Wednesday that it's just begun running on-air
promotion spots for three of its most popular programs, in which the song "I
Could Use a Hero" by Bering Strait is featured.
That song is on the Russian group's self-titled, Grammy Award-nominated debut
CD.
The band will perform three different versions of the song in promos for
Animal Precinct: New York, Animal Cops: Detroit and Animal
Cops: Houston. The network said those spots will run "50 to 75 times per
week" between now and year's end.
The band -- which performs a blend of bluegrass/pop/rock/infused country --
was profiled in a 90-minute documentary, The Ballad of Bering Strait,
which was shown in theaters and on Country Music Television earlier this year
and is now in DVD release.
