Upstart digital service Anime Network will offer its Japanese-based animated
programs to RCN Corp.'s video-on-demand service as part of a carriage agreement
between the two parties announced Wednesday.
Beginning June 1, Anime programming will be available through RCN's "Impulse
On Demand" service, which is available free-of-charge to RCN's Philadelphia-area
subscribers, the network said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed at press time.
"This initial on-demand offer to RCN subscribers is a terrific opportunity to
prove the growing consumer demand for this unique style of animation
programming," said John Ledford, president, CEO and cofounder of A.D. Vision
Inc., Anime's parent company, in a prepared statement.
