Charter Communications Inc. continued its hiring binge Thursday, naming
former AT&T Broadband vice president of programming Sue Hamilton as its
programming chief.

Hamilton replaces former Charter senior VP of programming Patty McCaskill,
who resigned in February to take a position with former Charter CEO Jerry Kent's
telecommunications-investment vehicle, CEQUEL III.

Hamilton's appointment is the third senior-executive hiring for Charter this
week.

On Monday, the company said it signed on former Cox Business Services
president Chuck McElroy as senior VP of operations for the Southeast
division.

One day later, Charter named former Armstrong Cable Services president
Michael Haislip senior VP of operations for the Great Lakes division.

In her new position, Hamilton will provide content strategy across all
platforms and overall responsibility for managing relationships and negotiating
affiliation agreements with content providers, including cable-television
networks; broadcast networks and their affiliates; and pay-per-view event and
music consolidators.

She will report to Margaret "Maggie" Bellville, executive VP and chief
operating officer.

"Sue will work together with our existing team toward the goal of increasing
performance and leadership in providing the best value to our customers with our
products and services," Charter president and CEO Carl Vogel said in a prepared
statement.

"She has the experience and leadership talent we need as we continue to move
forward with our plan to execute with excellence and focus," Vogel added.

Hamilton got her start in the cable industry in 1993 with Tele-Communications
Inc.

A lawyer by trade -- she received her juris doctor from Stanford Law School
-- she held various management positions there and at its successor, AT&T
Broadband.
