Apple TV will add Sony Pictures Television’s online programming service Crackle to its lineup of online content offerings, the company said Wednesday.
Crackle, which offers original scripted and reality series as well as Hollywood movies and off-TV series such as The Shield,Seinfeld and Damages, will offer its content on Apple TV in high definition, said company officials.
Crackle also announced Wednesday that it has greenlit its popular action scripted series Chosen for a third season, ahead of its season 2 premiere which debuts Thursday (Dec. 12.)
“We are thrilled to offer Crackle on Apple TV, said Phil Lynch, Senior Vice President, Digital Networks and Games, Sony Pictures Television in a statement. “Crackle on Apple TV will provide viewers across 20 countries with even more opportunities to stream high quality programming for free.”
