April Out Like a Lion for Lifetime

Lifetime Television posted its sixth consecutive month of primetime-household-ratings growth in April, the network said Tuesday.

The women’s service earned a 1.6 Nielsen Media Research rating for the month, up 14% from a 1.4 in April 2004.

The April 4 debut of Lifetime Original MovieOdd Girl Out helped to propel the network, as that film was the most-watched original movie on basic cable year-to-date among total viewers (5.1 million) and women 18-49, as well as the second-highest among women 18-34 behind fellow Lifetime Original Movie Mom at Sixteen.

In addition, Lifetime’s documentary on the epidemic of domestic violence, Terror at Home: Domestic Violence in America, became the network’s second-most-watched documentary ever during its premiere April 10, averaging 1.4 million viewers two-plus.
