Arris Group Inc. announced that Bresnan Communications is using its “Touchstone TM402P” embedded multimedia-terminal adapter for its voice-over-Internet-protocol rollouts in its four-state Rocky Mountain operating region.

The EMTAs deliver two primary lines of VoIP service, along with high-speed-data service. The terminal has backup power for 16 hours, a key feature for Bresnan, senior vice president of advanced services Lenny Higgins said.

Since many of our franchises are in smaller markets, it’s vital that our customers’ phones stay on in the case of an emergency or sustained power outage,” Higgins said in a prepared statement.
