Arris Names Former Weather Channel CEO Wilson To Board

Cable equipment vendor Arris announced the appointment of Debora Wilson, former president and CEO of The Weather Channel, to its board of directors.

Wilson joined The Weather Channel in 1994 as senior vice president of new business development, subsequently rising

to head of TWC Interactive and chief operating officer before serving as president and CEO from 2004 to 2009. In 2008, Landmark Communications sold The Weather Channel properties to a group headed by NBC Universal.

"Debora brings tremendous program content related experience to our board of directors that will help guide Arris through the ongoing transformation of the information industry," Arris chairman and CEO Bob Stanzione said in a statement. "Debora's addition greatly adds to the skill sets that our directors currently bring to the table. We welcome her addition to the board."

Before joining The Weather Channel, Wilson worked at in the TeleTV division of Bell Atlantic (now part of Verizon) in Washington, D.C. She serves on the boards of directors of Internap Network Services and Markel.
