Arris Interactive LLC reported a gain in fourth-quarter revenue, indicating
that it may have seen the bottom of the capital-expenditure slide among
broadband-service providers.

Arris reported $183.5 million in revenue for the period ended Dec. 31, 2001,
up 5.4 percent from the 2001 third quarter and 3.3 percent over fourth-quarter
2000.

Cash flow from operations totaled $32.2 million in the most recently
completed quarter.

The company said it was slightly above breakeven in cash earnings, compared
with a net loss of 6 cents per share during the third quarter.

Full-year revenue totaled $747.7 million compared with $998.7 million in
2000, reflecting spending cutbacks in cable, principally AT&T Broadband.

Executive vice president and chief financial officer Larry Margolis said that
while industry fundamentals are strengthening, 'We anticipate that revenues and
cash earnings before unusual items for the first quarter of 2002 will be similar
to or slightly above the fourth quarter [of] 2001.'

Beyond that, Arris offered no guidance, but it suggested that its purchase of
Cadent Technologies Inc. and its cable-modem-termination-system business 'will
yield improved performance in succeeding quarters.'
