AT&T’s U-verse service this week added V-me and WAPA America to its Spanish-language package, Paquete Español, which now features 24 popular Spanish, and in-language channels offering novelas, news and children’s programming. Paquete Español costs $10 a month with any U-verse TV core programming package.
“We are excited to partner with AT&T to offer more U.S. Hispanics across the country the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of original and culturally-relevant programming from Puerto Rico’s leading broadcaster,” said Joe Ramos, president of WAPA-TV, in a statement.
WAPA America, which is viewed in almost 3 million homes throughout the U.S. and distributed on cable, satellite and IPTV providers, will be available on U-verse TV Channel 3013. WAPA America’s programming originates from Puerto Rico, broadcasting some of the island’s highest-rated shows including SuperXclusivo.
Other networks featured in U-verse’s Paquete Español include CineLatino, CNN en Español, GolTV, MTVTr3s, HITN, De Película, Fox Sports en Español, mun2, and Galavision.
The Hispanic additions come on the heels of AT&T’s announcement this month that it is adding more than 30 new HD channels to its U-verse TV lineup, as well as new international programming packages for Chinese, Polish, Russian, French and European-sports audiences. U-verse TV now offers more than 75 HD channels.
