AT&T launched its TV-over-copper service to Toledo, Ohio, and Charlotte, N.C., where it is now touting a U-verse TV lineup with more than 75 high-definition channels.
The telco’s DSL-based TV and Internet services will compete primarily with Buckeye CableSystem in Toledo and Time Warner Cable in Charlotte.
In the Toledo area, U-verse services are available in parts of nine communities: Holland, Monclova Township, Perrysburg, Perrysburg Township, Ottawa Hills, Spencer Township, Springfield Township, Sylvania Township and Toledo.
In both markets, AT&T is offering its new Max 18 DSL tier, which provides downstream speeds up to 18.0 Mbps and upstream speeds up to 1.5 Mbps. The service is available only to customers who also subscribe to U-verse TV.
