AT&T Broadband in Chicago announced Tuesday that it is helping CBS'
The Early Show in its 'VH1 Save the Music Week' effort to collect musical
instruments for public schools in that market.

The Early Show/VH1 drive is being conducted through Friday
morning.

Chicago is one of 30 cities in which VH1's Save the Music initiative is
helping to restore music-education programs to public schools this year.

AT&T Broadband said the public can donate musical instruments at its
payment centers in Chicago and such nearby cities as Oakbrook, Ill., as well as
at Sam Ash music stores.

Local CBS affiliate WBBM-TV is also participating in this week's CBS/VH1
effort.

VH1 estimated that since the Save the Music program was created in 1997, it
has donated more than $21 million worth of musical instruments to 900 public
schools in 75 cities.
