AT&T Launches Local VoIP

AT&T Corp. is launching its first local voice-over-Internet-protocol markets in northern New Jersey.

Unlimited local and long-distance calls will be priced at $19.99 per month for six months until the end of May. Thereafter, the regular price will be $39.99.

AT&T has stated that it wants to reach 1 million VoIP subscribers by 2005, and it is targeting 100 market launches by year-end.
