AT&T Packs Five More HDs Into U-verse TV

AT&T has added five high-definition channels -- Fox Soccer HD, Fox Sports Arizona HD, Fuse HD, GolTV HD and Nat Geo Wild HD -- for U-verse customers with qualifying packages, and now offers Starz Entertainment's MoviePlex and Encore Español along with three international channels.

U-verse TV now delivers at least 170 HD channels and up to 181 HDs, depending on market, which the telco claims is the biggest high-def lineup in the industry.

AT&T charges an additional $10 per month for access to HD channels. U-verse TV subscribers can access a maximum of three different live HD channels simultaneously per household.

In addition, available to subscribers with the U300 or U450 packages, AT&T has added Starz's MoviePlex and Encore Español channels.

Also on the Spanish-language programming, U-verse U200 Latino and Paquete Español subscribers now have access to Nat Geo Mundo and Utilisima.

AT&T offers Aapka Colors, India's general entertainment channel with fiction, nonfiction and Bollywood programming, for an additional $15 a month to any package. Available soon will be MTV Arabia, featuring pop music from the Middle East and North Africa with classic and new MTV programs with Arabic subtitles, for an additional $5 a month.

AT&T also announced enhancements to the guide, which the telco said provides an easier way to check how much DVR recording space is available and an option to assign names to U-verse receivers.

U-verse also updated the Flickr photos app, originally launched in 2008, with new features including the ability to view photo favorites, change users to view other Flickr accounts and view videos.
