Soldiers based at Al Asad Airbase in Iraq will be able to watch Friday night’s Texas high-school football clash between the Snyder Tigers and the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes thanks to AT&T Texas and Tandberg.
The telco will use the vendor’s videoconferencing technology to send the game overseas. AT&T Texas worked with the Freedom Calls Foundation on multiple events in the past.
“We have several Snyder alumni stationed at Al Asad Airbase, so we jumped at the opportunity to bring them some hometown football action," Snyder High School principal Larry Scott said in a prepared statement. "Knowing that they are watching will make this game really special.”
Tandberg Americas president Rick Snyder added, “The fact that hometown fans will be cheering from thousands of miles away speaks to the power of visual communications. We're proud that Tandberg was a part of bringing a little piece of home to soldiers overseas.”
