AT&T inked a deal with Tribune to deliver Superstation WGN and Tribune’s TV stations in local markets served by U-verse TV.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. All U-verse TV customers will have access to Superstation WGN, including Chicago Cubs and White Sox Major League Baseball and Chicago Bulls National Basketball Association games.
The carriage deal covers Tribune stations in markets where AT&T currently offers -- or plans to offer -- U-verse TV. Stations in markets currently served by U-verse include (with their network affiliations): WPIX (New York/The CW), KTLA (Los Angeles/CW), KDAF (Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas/CW), KHCW (Houston/CW), WXIN (Indianapolis/Fox), WTTV/WTTK (Indianapolis/CW), KSWB (San Diego/CW), WTIC (Hartford, Conn./Fox) and WTXX (Hartford/CW).
Last week AT&T said it had 51,000 U-verse TV subscribers as of June 30, up from 13,000 three months earlier. U-verse TV is available in parts of 23 markets.
