AZN Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

To honor Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, AZN Television in May will air interstitial segments featuring top Asian and Asian-American talent.

The interstitials will feature Lucy Liu, Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim, recipients of this year's Asian Excellence Awards and Rémy Martin X.O Honors, which were presented by the Asian-American-targeted network.

In addition, the Comcast Corp.-owned service in May will run special tributes to Asian Pacific American Heritage Month before each of its original shows, notably NBA Timeout, a co-production with NBA Television; Cinema AZN; variety show Popcom Zen; and The Bridge, which focuses on the Asian-American music scene.

"Our theme for May is ‘Celebrating Asian American Excellence Every Day.' AZN is dedicated to showcasing the talents of Asian Americans, as well as providing Asian-American viewers with television programming just for them," general manager Rod Shanks said in a prepared statement.

"Through our interstitials, original programming and Web site [www.azntv.com], we intend to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month while underscoring to our viewers that we are fully committed to serving this community every day," he added.
