Azteca America Opens Studio in Mexico City

Starting April 14, Azteca America will begin broadcasting its newscast from a brand new studio in Mexico City, where parent company TV Azteca is based. The new studio will supplement news programming delivered by the network’s U.S.-based team of correspondents and crew.

According to María Elena Jáuregui, VP of news, the two network news broadcasts will continue at 5:30 p.m. (ET) and 11 p.m. (ET) along with the local news broadcasts in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas at their regularly scheduled times.

“This agreement with TV Azteca’s news division allows us greater access to a larger pool of reporters, bureaus and technology,” said Jáuregui.

The agreement includes sharing facilities with the Fuerza Informativa Azteca team.

Azteca América will continue to have news crews and reporters in Los Angeles and other parts of California; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; Dallas; Houston; and Las Vegas.
