Fox Soccer Channel is going to kick it around with the college game again.
The service extended its agreement with National Soccer Coaches Association of America to air both men and women’s matches through 2008.
Under the renewal contract, Fox Soccer will air a minimum of eight and a maximum of one-dozen NCAA Division 1 soccer matches for each gender.
Fox Soccer plans to broadcast 12 men’s games and, for the first time, eight women’s matches during the 2006 season.
That collegiate coverage will be preceded April 9 by two men’s and women’s matches from the 10th annual KICKS Against Breast Cancer College Tournament and the second annual SHUT-OUT Cancer College Soccer Classic.
The matches, slated to air live from the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md., will feature the University of Virginia vs. the Washington Freedom in a women’s game at 5 p.m. (EST) and the University of Maryland -- last year’s NCAA men’s national champion -- against the D.C. United Reserves at 7 p.m.
