The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing announced Monday
that Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer has been set as the opening keynote
speaker for the CTAM Summit, slated to run July 20 through 23.
Given its Seattle locale, CTAM had hinted previously that a top Microsoft
executive might be represented on its speakers' platform.
The conference's theme is "The Art & Science of Marketing: Strategy.
Creative. Results," according to co-chairs Rich Cronin, Game Show Network CEO,
and Joe Rooney, Cox Communications Inc. vice president of marketing.
Meanwhile, CTAM said its April 8 through 11 CTAM Digital Conference agenda in
New Orleans will include a "Wall Street Meets Main Street" panel session.
Its participants will be: Salomon Smith Barney Inc. U.S. equity
research-division managing director Niraj Gupta, Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.
senior media research analyst Tom Wolzien, Comcast Cable Communications Inc.
executive VP of sales and customer services David Watson and Turner Broadcasting
System Inc. domestic-distribution president Andy Heller.
