Banfield Joins Court TV News

Ashleigh Banfield has joined the on-air team at Court TV News.

Banfield, who first appeared on Court TV in April, will serve as a guest host for various daytime programs including Open Court and Catherine Crier Live.

Prior to Court TV, she worked with NBC News and MSNBC, covering stories including the World Trade Center in New York following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 -- for which she received an Emmy Award recognition -- as well as reporting from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Israel to cover the war on terror.

“We are pleased to have Ashleigh join the Court TV News family,” executive vice president Marlene Dann said in a prepared statement. “She has covered some of the biggest stories from around the country and the globe, and her vast experience in breaking news will be a welcome addition to the new and distinct Court TV News.”

In other Court TV news, Court TV Networks and On Command Corp. renewed an agreement to bring the programmer’s primetime content to about 400,000 U.S. hotel rooms.

Hotel guests can continue to order and view episodes of Forensic Files, Psychic Detectives and other shows. The on-demand programming is updated monthly in more than 70 hotel chains and lodging operators.
