Basic-cable networks have run their streak of record weekly share marks in primetime to three. From July 7 to 13, the medium recorded a 5.3% increase over a year earlier to average a best-ever 55.6 share of the primetime audience, according to a Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.

The seven broadcasters' aggregate primetime share slipped 5% to 36.2.

Basic cable registered a 55.4 primetime share for the week of June 30 to July 6 and a 55.0 share from June 23 to June 29, the first time ever at those levels.

Dating back to 2002, basic cable has now exceeded 50 share points in primetime for 23 consecutive summer weeks.

Theatrical hit The Wedding Planner helped Turner Network Television secure the top spot in primetime household ratings from July 7 to 13.

TNT aired the comedy three times during primetime that weekend, with the July 11 and 12 runs tying for fifth among that week's most-watched shows (3.1 household average). TNT scored a 2.3 household mark, according to an ABC Cable Networks Group analysis of Nielsen Media Research data.

Runner-up Disney Channel came in at a 1.8. Lifetime Television and Nickelodeon were tied for third at 1.7, while Cartoon Network was fifth with a 1.6.

Other ties rounded out the top 10: TBS Superstation and USA Network at a 1.5; and A&E Network, MTV: Music Television and Fox News Channel with a 1.2.

TNT was also tops among adults 18 to 49 in primetime (1.16 million on average) and total-day (614,000), according to Turner Entertainment Research. TBS placed second among adults 18 to 49 in primetime (918,000) and total-day (589,000).

In terms of total-day measures, Nickelodeon held its usual spot in first with a 1.5 household average. Cartoon Network and Disney were second with averages of 1.3, ahead of TNT and Lifetime with a 1.2 apiece.

TNN held the first and second spots for the week among households with its July 7 presentation of World Wrestling Entertainment's Raw. The 10 to 11 p.m. hour pinned a 4.5.

Monk
continued to boost USA, which scored a 3.1 for its July 11 showing.

TNT's Prince Charming
was basic's top original film for the week among adults 18 to 34, 18 to 49 and 25 to 54, as well as with corresponding female demos.

But the movie's 2.3 household rating for its July 13 premiere was only good for a tie for 51st among the week's highest-rated shows, according to ABC's analysis.

Installments of Lifetime series The Division and Strong Medicine were the night's top performers, both averaging a 2.7.
