BBC America will take its Doctor Who anniversary special, Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor to select theaters next month, the network announced Thursday.
The special, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic sci-fi series, will air Nov. 23 simultaneosusly in AMC, Cinemark and Regal theaters in 11 cities and on BBC America, said network officials. The 3D screenings of the special will run in theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Minneapolis, said network officials.
The special will get a second theatrical run on Nov. 25 in more than 300 select cinemas around the country, said network officials. The theatrical events will include introductions as well as The Day of The Doctor: Behind The Lens, a 10 minute behind-the-scenes vignette.
