BellSouth entered into nonexclusive agreements to market and deploy DirecTV services to the residential-multidwelling-unit market in its service area, official said Tuesday.
The telco will jointly roll out the direct-broadcast satellite service as part of agreements with DirecTECH, MasTec and DirecTV master-system operators.
Under the agreements reached, BellSouth -- together with DirecTECH and MasTec -- will offer voice, data and DirecTV programming packages specifically designed for the MDU market.
Joint proposals and coordinated deployment of services will provide multifamily developers and homeowners associations with a full menu of premium residential technology services that will result in time and cost savings to residents.
"As a result of these agreements, developers, managers and residents of multidwelling developments in the Southeast receive reliable phone and Internet services and unique digital programming such as NFL Sunday Ticket and Spanish-language channels," BellSouth president of community technologies Phil Jacobs said in a prepared statement.
