BendBroadband launched voice-over-Internet-protocol service in Redmond, Wash., and Terrebonne, Ore., Tuesday.

The operator said its “BendBroadband Phone” service will be available in Bend, Ore., in late January, while service in Sisters and Black Butte Ranch, Ore., will launch in the third quarter.

The company added that BendBroadband Phone travels over its privately managed broadband network using IP technology, not the public Internet.

BendBroadband is offering unlimited local and domestic long-distance calling in the Continental United States; enhanced voice-mail features, E911 service; and 20 calling features including call waiting, caller ID and three-way calling for as little as $39.95 per month.
