ATLANTA -Cable News Network principal anchor Bernard Shaw plans to resign from the all-news channel at the end of February, the network said last Friday.
The 60-year-old Shaw, with CNN since 1980, planned to announce his intentions during last Friday's
Inside Politics.
"I am stepping back from the table to write books, including an autobiography. Also, I am leaving to give back to my wifely friend, Linda, her husband and to our adult daughter and son, their father," Shaw was to tell viewers, according to a copy of the script. Shaw said he might return to report stories for CNN "from time to time."
