Black Entertainment Television will air Showtime Sports’ documentary on the life of fighter Floyd Mayweather in the days leading up to Mayweather's May 4 pay-per-view boxing event.
The special, 30 Days In May, will debut on BET April 29 and chronicles the days surrounding Mayweather’s incarceration in 2012 featuring never before seen footage of the undefeated welterweight champion, according to network officials. Showtime originally aired the documentary April 3.
BET sister service Centric will air the special May 4 at 8 p.m., one hour before the beginning of the Mayweather-Robert Guerrero pay-per-view event, according to BET.
“We are excited to partner with Showtime on this major original project,” said Barbara Zaneri, Executive Vice President of Programming Strategy, Scheduling and Acquisitions, BET Networks in a statement. “Floyd Mayweather is an intriguing figure and we believe our audience will be interested in his evolution as a fighter and a human being.”
