BET Notches Home-Video Deal

Black Entertainment Television will distribute a select number of its
original urban-themed titles via home video through an agreement with UrbanWorks

UrbanWorks -- which already offers BET's stand-up comedy series,
ComicView, and its Arabesque Filmsmade-for-TV movies to the
home-video market -- will also distribute the network's signature biography
series, Journeys in Black;its annual Celebration of Gospel
concert special; and its yearly Walk of Fame induction special, the
network said.

'The long-term plan for the valuable content in our library has been to
pursue the video and DVD distribution of our popular titles,' BET senior vice
president for news, public affairs and program acquisitions Nina Henderson Moore
said in a prepared statement.

'BET has enjoyed a positive relationship with [UrbanWorks president] Jeff
Clanagan over the years in other feature-film capacities, so it seems befitting
that he and UrbanWorks Entertainment become our strategic partner in this next
level of our business development,' she added.
