CSG Systems International Inc. announced the latest release of its “CSG Data Mediation” Wednesday.
The vendor described Data Mediation as “the essential layer between a telecommunications-service provider's network and downstream systems that processes the data required to realize revenue from customer transactions, collects over 1 billion records per day and collects usage records accounting for nearly $1 trillion of revenue per year.”
In the new version, CSG has added a set of open-standards-based application-programming interfaces, which allows service providers to use mediation to populate records with real-time information from sources throughout the enterprise before they are passed downstream, allowing increasingly complex customer transactions to be processed more efficiently and accurately.
For example, the software can now pre-rate records, populate records with customer-specific information or apply specific rules to a record based on the content of the transaction, the vendor said.
“With real-time access to enterprise information, Mediation can discover, react and add value to the new world of business scenarios, effectively streamlining event management for our customers," said Darla Thompson, vice president of product management for CSG's global software and services division, in a prepared statement.
“This new open release will empower CSG's customers to go beyond linear-event and network-traffic management to intelligent customer-transaction processing,” she added.
