Beyoncé Bounces To Pay-Per-View

Spring Communications will team with Ford Motor Co. next month to present a live pay-per-view music event featuring actress and singer Beyoncé Knowles.

The June 14 event, part of Ford's 100th anniversary celebration, will feature musical performances by Knowles, lead singer of the rhythm and blues group Destiny's Child — as well as group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — and Knowles' sister Solange, said Spring president John Rubey. The event will retail at a suggested price of $9.95.

Rubey said the low price; the appeal of Knowles, who starred in last summer's box-office hit Austin Powers in Goldmember; and a previous performance by Destiny's Child — the most lucrative PPV music event of 2001 — should bode well for the buy-rate.

The event will be promoted in Vogue, Glamour
and The New Yorker.
