There was a lot more love for HBO's polygamist series Sunday night.

Big Love's fourth-season premiere on Jan. 10 averaged some 1.72 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. That marked a 49% jump from the show's third-season debut, which drew some 1.16 million watchers. Cume viewing numbers, reflecting encores, as well as on-demand airings, will not be available until next week.

The debut installment of the nine-episode campaign found the prophet Roman Grant (Harry Dean Stanton) dead and the Henricksons' opening a new family-friendly casino.
