`Big Lake' Ratings Struggle To Stay Afloat

Comedy Central's Aug. 17 launch of its new comedy series Big Lake struggled to catch on with viewers.
The half-hour comedy series starring Chris Gethard (a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv troupe) as a discredited financial whiz kid who returns home to live with his parents, averaged 830,000 viewers in its 10 p.m. debut, according to Nielsen. That's below the 1 million viewers Comedy Central averaged in primetime during the month of July, according to Nielsen data.
Big Lake, produced by the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay-headed production company Gary Sanchez Productions, also drew 434,000 adult 18-49 viewers; 178,000 male 18-34 viewers; and 63,000 male 18-24 watchers, said the network.
