Big Lines at TVG’s Betting Windows

TVG Network said Friday that it posted its highest quarterly handle ever during the second quarter.

The Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.-owned horse-racing network’s second-quarter handle was $88,552,031, up 45% from the year-ago quarter, highlighted by $5.2 million on Kentucky Derby day (May 1) and $3.2 million on Belmont Stakes day (June 5).

“Enhanced programming, an extremely compelling Triple Crown, increased cable and satellite distribution of TVG programming and the addition of the state of Washington to the markets in which we accept wagering all played a role in the encouraging second-quarter results,” president Ryan O’Hara said in a prepared statement.
