Chieftains from the top two MSOs are among the headliners secured as speakers for next month’s National Show in New Orleans.
The May 3 general session will feature Comcast Corp. CEO Brian Roberts and Time Warner Inc. chairman and CEO Richard Parsons, interviewed by Fox News Channel’s Stuart Varney, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association said Thursday.
A public-policy luncheon that same day will feature remarks from Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), the Appropriations Committee chairman, and Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (R-Wis.), the House Judiciary Committee chairman.
U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige will discuss opportunities in education for the cable industry during a public-policy breakfast Tuesday, May 4.
Later that morning, Federal Communications Commission chairman Michael Powell will address a general session.
Powell's fellow commissioners -- Kathleen Abernathy, Jonathan Adelstein, Michael Copps and Kevin Martin -- will appear at the public-policy lunch Tuesday, May 4, to discuss the regulatory environment for cable and telecommunications.
Also participating in that luncheon program will be acting assistant commerce secretary Michael Gallagher, who also serves as acting head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
The National Show will be held May 2-5 in New Orleans.
