Bill Burke Leaves Resort Sports Net

Portland, Maine— Former TBS Superstation president Bill Burke last week said he had resigned as president of Resort Sports Network, a mountain-sports network that has the financial backing of Amos Hostetter.

Burke, who joined RSN in March 2000, will remain on the network's board. RSN chief financial officer John Isacke will take over the top administrative role in the company.

During Burke's tenure, RSN developed partnerships with The Weather Channel and America Online Inc., and entered the Chicago, Albany, N.Y., and Providence, R.I., markets. RSN also enjoyed 25 percent revenue growth during the past year, despite the downturn in the national ad market.

Burke said he is leaving to pursue some new job opportunities, although he wouldn't elaborate.

"A lot of what I was brought in here to do was focus the business," he said. "I feel I have done that."

RSN bills itself as a cable TV and Web-based network specializing in region-specific content for outdoor enthusiasts.
