It's official. Today show 9 a.m. host Billy Bush is out as of Monday (Oct. 17).
Today executive producer Noah Oppenheim informed Today show staffers of the move in an e-mail, though it had been anticipated since Bush was suspended for his role in Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's remarks about his treatment of women in a 2005 video.
"Billy Bush will be leaving the TODAY show’s 9 am hour, effective today," said Noah in the e-mail. "While he was a new member of the TODAY team, he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family. We wish him success as he goes forward."
Bush responded in a statement, according to NBC. "I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead. Billy."
