Bio Channel next Thursday (Aug. 28) will debut a special documentary focusing on legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
The two-hour documentary special Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child, features the legendary musician's own words to tell the story of his life through interviews granted by Hendrix, coupled with letters, writings and recordings. The special will also include never before seen photographs and film footage from the Hendrix family archive, said the network.
Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child also features never before heard live performances, said BIO Channel officials.
The special comes on the heels of Legacy Recordings and Experience Hendrix LLC's release of Hendrix content including deluxe editions of Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions, Jimi Hendrix: The Blues, and Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year.
A new four CD box set set to drop later this year, West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology, tracks Hendrix's journey from R&B sideman to international stardom. The deluxe set is filled with previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix Experience recordings plus demos, alternate takes and more, according to the network.
