London-No. 2 U.K. cable operator Telewest Communications plc confirmed last Friday that it has suspended digital-service marketing due to a shortage of flash-memory components for set-tops. Similar shortages have afflicted U.S. MSOs.
Telewest said it was working with vendor Pace Micro Technology plc to resolve the shortage problem. Still, an HSBC Securities Inc. analyst downgraded the company's stock to "sell" from "hold."
