Brands Names Oliver CEO

Tom Oliver, the former Source Media Inc. and DMX Music Inc. executive, was
named CEO of Brands Shopping Network Inc. Wednesday morning.

Oliver will spearhead Phoenix-based Brands' effort to launch a home shopping
service featuring half-hour and hour-long presentations from a variety of
well-known retail and lifestyle-merchandise companies.

He has served on the company's board since last November.

Brands has announced several programming and product partnerships with a
number of retailers, most recently home-video chain Wherehouse Entertainment
Inc. However, the venture has yet to declare a launch date, cable-operator
carriage agreements or key format details.

Oliver was president and chief operating officer of Liberty Media Corp.
subsidiary DMX before becoming president and CEO of Source's Interactive Channel
operation. He served with IC from 1996 until 2001, leaving before parent Source
went under due to financial difficulties.

Insight Communications Co. Inc. continues to use IC applications among its
cable systems, using 'Virtual Modem' software Source sold to Liberate
Technologies.

Prior to his 1987-through-1996 DMX tenure, Oliver worked for Home Box Office
and USA Network.
